Q4 2022 Update
Mallinckrodt is targeting to emerge from Chapter 11 on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. If they do emerge from bankruptcy, the various sub-trusts will be set up and an initial distribution of $450 million will be set aside for Opioid Claimants. We would anticipate being able to submit claims later this year. To do so, we will need the information listed below.
If the plan is approved, we anticipated that we will need records from the pharmacy where you filled your Purdue Pharma opioids prescriptions and medical records which show that you were prescribed them. These records will be used to prove the Purdue Pharma opioids that you were prescribed and took are the ones involved in your addiction. We may need records from the health care providers who treated you for your addiction. This includes hospital records, pain clinic records, primary care doctor records, psychiatric care and drug and rehabilitation centers.
If you are having trouble getting your pharmacy records, or your local pharmacy is telling you that they cannot go back far enough you can often reach out to the corporate “Custodian of Records.” You can find them by doing a web search for a form called a “Custodian of Records for _____ Pharmacy. Q4 2021 Update
Brent Coon & Associates is representing people who became addicted to Mallinckrodt Opioids, which made generic versions of various name brand opioid drugs, most notably Roxicodone. Although a bankruptcy plan has been proposed, the deadline to vote has not passed. BCA submitted a list of clients who had signed up by the July 15 deadline. These clients should receive a ballot to vote on the plan. At this time, we do not have a recommendation on how you should vote. The voting deadline is not until September, and we hope to have more information about the plan in the coming weeks so that we can provide you a recommendation on how to vote.
It is not necessary to vote on the plan in order to file a claim. The deadline to file a claim has NOT passed, in fact the deadline has not yet been established.
If the plan passes, we anticipated that we will need records from the pharmacy where you filled your Purdue Pharma opioids prescriptions and medical records which show that you were prescribed them.
